The university was named Berks County鈥檚 top college/university in the Berks County Living 2025 People鈥檚 Choice Awards, reaffirming its longstanding reputation for academic excellence, innovation and service. This marks the sixth straight year Alvernia has received the accolade, which is determined by local readers and residents. The People鈥檚 Choice is an annual survey that identifies the region鈥檚 leaders in a variety of categories as determined by Berks County residents. That information is used to determine which businesses and organizations voters see fit to receive the People鈥檚 Choice Leader designation for 2025 by fostering positive consumer relationships while providing valuable services committed to quality.
In Schuylkill County, Alvernia was recognized for the first time as the region鈥檚 leading higher education institution in the Republican Herald 2025 Readers鈥 Choice Awards. The competition, which has highlighted regional favorites for 13 years, invites the public to nominate and vote for the best in more than 240 categories, ranging from health care to education.
Alvernia鈥檚 CollegeTowne initiatives in Reading and Pottsville have expanded access to education and strengthened local economies through community partnerships, workforce development programming and innovative learning environments.
